Sainik School Admission 2026 For Class 6 Eligibility Criteria

• The children should be aged between 10 and 12 years [1 April 2014 – 31 March 2016] as on 31 March 2026.
• Student must be in Class V at a recognized school.

Eligibility Criteria for Sainik School Admission 2026 for Class 9

• Boys aged between 13 and 15 years [1 April 2011 – 31 March 2013] as on 31 March 2026.
• Student must be enrolled in Class VIII at a recognized school.

Note: Boys and Girls can apply for both Class 6 and Class 9 as per the availability of vacant seats in that particular Sainik school.

Sainik School Admission Documents Required

How to Apply for Sainik School Admission 2026?

All the eligible candidates can apply for Sainik School admissions through online mode by visiting NTA official website i.e. exams.nta.ac.in application 2026. To apply for upcoming AISSEE 2026 Entrance Exam, students can follow the below steps:

Step 1: Sainik School Online Registration 2026

• Visit to the NTA Sainik School Official Website at https://exams.nta.nic.in/sainik-school-society/ application 2026 to enroll online registration process.
• On the Homepage, click on the “Online Application” link and you will be redirected to an online registration form.
• Candidate’s should provide the Name/ Mother’s Name/ Father’s Name as in the school records. Date of birth as per birth certificate/ school records.
• Next point to enter Identification Details like School ID or Aadhar Card or Pan Card or Passport number or any other Photo Identity card issued by Government.
• Mobile Number and E-mail Address: Candidates must provide Mobile Number and email address (their own or that of their parents). The mobile number and email will be verified through One Time Password (OTP) prior to creation of online credential.
• Provide the Complete postal address with PIN Code (Correspondence and permanent address) for further correspondence.

Step 2: Filling of Sainik School Online Form 2026-27

After completing the Sainik School Admission Online Registration 2026-27, candidate will have to login by using application number and password and then fill the required information in the online application.

• Applicant must fill in the application form with your personal information, academic details, choice of school(s), choice of examination city, and uploading scanned documents.
• Uploading of Scanned Documents: Candidate Photograph should be uploaded which should be in Passport Size Photograph with Size 10kb to 200 kb in JPG Format. The photographs must be taken on or after 1st July 2025* preferably indicating clearly the name of candidate along with date of taking the photograph.
• Candidate Signature and left thumb impression to be uploaded for boys/girls both.
• Domicile Certificate with size of 50 kb to 300kb in PDF format should be uploaded.
• Category Certificate if applicable.

Step 3: Payment of AISSEE 2026 Application Fee

• After completing Step 2 of online application form, candidates may remit the examination fee by choosing the Online Payment Modes such as Debit Card/ Credit Card/ Net Banking/ UPI Mode.
• Print the conformation page after completing the Fee Payment Step 3.
• If candidate fails to complete all the steps, the final submission of Sainik School application form 2026 will remain incomplete and unsuccessful.
• The generation of a confirmation page confirms the final submission of application form. If the confirmation page has not been generated, this means that your application form has not been submitted successfully.
• After that, go for final submission of application form and hit to submit button. Also, note down the application number or take a printout of it for further reference purposes.

Note: In case, the fee payment status is not “OK” the candidates are advised as follows:

If the fee is paid through Debit or Credit card and status is not OK, it means the transaction is cancelled. Therefore, such candidates will have to pay the application fee once again and ensure the OK fee status. For cancelled transactions, the debited amount will revert or refund automatically to the concerned account.

Reservation Policy Sainik School Admission 2026

• 67% seats are reserved for candidates domiciled in the State/UT where the sainik school located.
• 33% Seats are reserved for candidates belongs to other state/ UT (Union Territories).

Within each category of Home State/ UT and Other States/ UT Quota seats will be reserved on the following lines:

• Scheduled Castes will get 15% reservation in total.
• Scheduled Tribes – 7.5% reservation in total.
• Other Backward Classes (OBC-NCL): 27% (excluding creamy layer)
• Out of the balance 50.50% of the seats in the Home State/ UT and Other States/ UT quota, and Defence personnel/ex-servicemen: 25% of total seats.

Reservation for Girls in Class VI: One seat per category for Girls Students will be allotted in Girl’s Admission. 10% of strength of Class VI or 10 number seats (whichever is higher) will be reserved for girl’s candidates in any school, in order to cater to all the categories.
